Security

Based on proven millimeter wave technology used by the US military, Loea’s products are highly secure. 

Loea’s security features include:

• Narrow Transmission Beamwidth – Loea’s 0.4 degree directional beamwidth minimizes the potential for data interception; Many other wireless solutions have 10+ degree beamwidths with sizeable side/back lobes that further increase potential security issues.
• Millimeter Wave Frequencies (70/80GHz) – Loea’s products are based on relatively-unused upper 70/80GHz radio frequencies; Unlicensed 2.4GHz or 5.8GHz radios are more susceptible to security breaches, intrusion and sniffers.
• Licensing – Loea’s web-based license can be completed in a few minutes to protect an installed link from other potential interferers; Unlicensed radios are subject to interference and spectrum issues while licensed microwave links require a cumbersome, costly and lengthy licensing process.
• Security Partnerships – Loea has developed partnerships with enhanced security providers, such as CipherOptics, in the event that additional security features are required including IPSec, Triple DES Encryption and FIPS compliance.
