Technology Overview
Loea products are based on millimeter wave technology in the recently-opened 70/80GHz spectrum (also referred to as E-Band). Loea led the petition and approval of these frequencies for commercial use.
This spectrum allows for full-duplex 1.25Gbps throughput today with the potential to increase beyond 10Gbps in the near future.
And unlike other wireless technologies that have performance limitations due to weather or spectrum-related issues, Loea millimeter wave technology is unaffected by most weather including fog, mist, haze and light rain and is not subject to unlicensed RF interference. In fact, Loea technology enables 99.999% availability at link distances exceeding 1km (0.6 miles).
Loea holds several patents in the area of millimeter wave technology.
